He is, by the way, also a professor at BYU (in English).Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09599912078704905243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2582907091331646185.post-56107030176353889212012-09-15T22:47:16.650-06:002012-09-15T22:47:16.650-06:00With a little research, I discovered that our ance...With a little research, I discovered that our ancestor, Agnes Ann Fife (married to Stanford Bingham) and your ancestor, Adam Sharp Fife (married to Comfort Jolly) were sister and brother. Agnes and Adam's parents were Adam Fife and Helen/Ellen Sharp (the common ancestor). So you and my husband are 4th cousins, once-removed.

Martin Hickman's grandfather was Josiah Hickman. Josiah is my husband's great-great grandfather. So I think that makes Martin and my husband 2nd cousins, twice-removed. Honestly, I don't know how to account for in-laws in that mix.

Thanks for helping me make those connections.
Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09599912078704905243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2582907091331646185.post-63364693653283264122012-09-13T21:00:26.878-06:002012-09-13T21:00:26.878-06:00Wendy, good to meet you. His parents were Adam Sharp Fife and Comfort Jolly. Similar names, but it doesn't look like the same line of Fifes. Nonetheless all Fifes go back to Fife county Scotland so we have to be related somehow. They may also be a Hickman tie. My dad's sister is JoAnn Emmett Hickman wife of Martin Hickman. best wishes, Chadchadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18261286903107575151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2582907091331646185.post-33918438108560875672012-09-13T06:44:04.762-06:002012-09-13T06:44:04.762-06:00Beautiful post. I somehow stumbled upon your adventures while you were in Israel and loved your posts detailing the history and geography there. So, I subscribed.

I follow less now, but had to read your post about the Brigham City Temple as my parents are serving in the temple presidency. I grew up there in Perry. My grandfather was a long-time principal of Central Elementary.

Also there must be a family connection as well. My husband's great-great grandmother was named Agnes Fife (married to Stanford Bingham). Her parents were Adam Fife and Helen/Ellen Sharp. It can't be a coincidence that your mother's name is Agnes Fife.

Nice to meet you,
Wendy Tams HickmanWendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09599912078704905243noreply@blogger.com
