In 1982 our BYU group stayed at Kibbutz Degania for two weeks working (we men shoveled chicken poop while the women propped up banana plants). We would work in the morning and read the New Testament in the afternoon.chadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18261286903107575151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2582907091331646185.post-77603080103466875392009-10-08T17:50:09.236-06:002009-10-08T17:50:09.236-06:00I hope you don't mind me posting - Laurie just...I hope you don't mind me posting - Laurie just gave out the blog to the faculty so we would quit asking her what she hears from Chad.

When I was there in 1994 we went to Mt. Sinai and no further because several tourist busses had been hit with rocket propelled grenades. You got a great sunrise - we waited at the top in a freezing wind and then got a slow brightening of the clouds. We did talk to people from all over the world then too. I think the weeks at the banana kibbutz and digging and Tel Ekron were instead of Egypt or do the students still get a chance to live and work on a kibbutz?MJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17739744848992467435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2582907091331646185.post-7888076743597579432009-10-05T10:01:25.666-06:002009-10-05T10:01:25.666-06:00Hello Chad, I just found your blog. Thanks for the prose and pictures - they both reminded us of our visit to Egypt in 1982 although the visitiing students were a little more rambunctious that the old fogies and picture junkies we traveled with way back then.Papa Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07105106234217164151noreply@blogger.com
