family fun

Spring Break at Disneyland for three full days.

The canoe ride around Tom Sawyer island was a first for all of us. It was fun.

We all reallly liked the new toy story shooting arcade ride/game. We did it twice even with 40 minute lines.

Family Home Evening game night with games dad used as a missionary in Indonesia when we taught families about FHE. In this game a tower of flour is cut until the quarter on top falls. The person who made the fateful cut then has to push the quarter out with his/her nose. Joel, Sarah and Dad all got to push. When Will was to push out the quarter he started to cry (just like four year old Benny Sihombing did in Surabaya 33 years ago). Not to worry he was happy in time for treats.

Joel's orangutan habitat for his second grade project. Background photos are from dad''s trip to orangutan territory in central Borneo.

Skiing Will

For celebration of Presidents Day, the Springville Emmetts went skiing at Solitude. It was four year old Will's first time on skis. He is a natural. I started out skiing backwards in front of him, but quickly realized that he could do it on his own. He mastered pizza and french fires right off. I spent all day tailing him down the hill. At the bottom he always wanted to go up again. By the end of the day (about 12 runs on Main Street) he was even turning with ease. At one point Sarah and Joel came over to join us. What a delight watching three kids heading down hill and having fun together. Some days life is very good.

What a Great Christmas Get-together!

The evening started with everyone filling their plate with food and heading for a place to sit down and eat
Most were too busy eating to pay any attendion to the camera.

Ditto.

Ditto again.

Then it was off to the living room to watch the Christmas Pagent.

More Pagent watchers.

First, Samuel the Lamanite (Bob) told of the Jesus yet to come.

Then Mary (Katie) was visited by an Angel (Carly).

Eventually Joseph (Bill) and Mary (Katie) welcomed Jesus (Jack).

They were visited by shepherds (Camilla, McKinley, and Will) plus a sheep (Sarah).

The shepherds in another pose.

Polly and her sheep put in an appearance too.

Close up of the Angel (Carly).

Wise men (Joel and Alex) joined in also.

Katie holds Jack while Aex looks on.

Jesus #1 (Jack) in the manger.

Jesus #2 (Lily) was almost too big for the crib.

Jesus #3 (Bruce) in a safer crib.

Next came the program led off by McKinley at the piano.

Sarah followed next.

Then Joel.

Molly and Amanda followed with a duet.

Finally, the Lundberg girls and their mom sang with Bruce in attendance.

Singing of familiarChristmas Carols with Norda at the piano came next.

Some of the singers.

The next day Will played in the snow while part of the family went skiing at Beaver.

And, finally, proof that we really did have a White Christmas!
Many thanks to all who could make it to Logan and we understand why some of you couldn't make it this year - maybe next time.
